  • Why metal?
Over the years, metal roofing has become a more practical substitute to other commonly used roofing materials due to its longer warranties, comparative prices and its overall look and appeal.
  • How long will it last?
Here at Classic Metals, we look at metal roofing as an investment for your home as our metal is backed with a 40 year warranty against paint cracking or peeling as long as standard metal roofing practices are followed. For more detailed warranty information, contact our office.
  • Isn’t metal roofing more expensive?
Most people are under the misconception that metal roofing is more expensive than asphalt shingles. However, due to the recent rise in petroleum prices and metal roofing’s longer warranties, metal is actually a more economical option.
  • I have heard that metal roofing heats up my home. Is this true?
All of our metal is coded with a solar reflectivity number which measures the material’s ability to reflect solar energy and sunlight from its surface, keeping your home cool. In the long run, your metal roof will help save you money in terms of heating and cooling your home. In order to receive an ENERGY STAR tax credit, they require a solar reflectivity value of 0.25 or higher for roofs higher than a 2-12 pitch. ALL of our metal, even black, has a solar reflectivity value higher than 0.25! For more information about ENERGY STAR tax credits, contact our office orwww.energystar.gov
  • I currently have a shingle roof. Do my shingles need to be removed before installing my metal roof?
For most people, shingles do not need to be removed unless structural damage to the roof system exists. We typically apply felt paper or titanium underlayment on top of shingles before laying down the metal. Your original shingle roof acts as another layer of insulation for your roof and home.
  • Are metal roofs noisy?
Actually, metal roofs are no different than any other roofing materials. When applying metal, most people apply a layer of felt or titanium paper which adds an extra layer of protection and insulation, as well as a sound barrier.
  • Once I place my order, how long will it take for my metal to be ready?
All the metal that you order from Classic Metals will be custom cut and bent. Therefore, please allow 24-48 hours for your order to be completed.
  • Can you deliver my metal if I do not have a trailer?
Yes, we do deliver metal. All delivery charges are based upon mileage from our office. If you decide to have your metal delivered, please allow an additional 24 hours from order completion for our delivery drivers to schedule your delivery.
